No plan at all
Or buy credit and spend it when you feel like it.
Some businesses ask Kit AI three questions at month end and nothing in between. Paying a monthly fee for that is a bad deal and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Buy credit up front, spend it as you ask, and pay nothing in a month you do not use it. Credit does not expire, and it is held in tokens rather than money — so a later price change cannot quietly revalue what you already bought.
Pay as you go
UGX 52,500 per 1,000,000 tokens
- Credit never expires
- Nothing charged in a quiet month
- Top up any amount, from inside the app
- Move onto a plan whenever it works out cheaper
The meter
What a token is, said plainly.
A token is roughly three quarters of a word. A short question and a short answer is a few hundred. Asking Kit AI to work through a quarter of sales and write it up is several thousand.
There is one unit and one count. The figure ticking up in your chat window is the figure your invoice is built from — not a smaller one that becomes a larger one at the end of the month, and not a number you need a conversion table to understand. Watch it while you work, and there is nothing left to reconcile.
| What you asked | Roughly | Per month on Pro |
|---|---|---|
| “Who owes me money?” | 2,000 | about 1,000 |
| “Why was March worse than February?” | 8,000 | about 250 |
| A full quarter reviewed and written up | 25,000 | about 80 |
Typical, not guaranteed — a question about ten thousand invoices costs more than the same question about ten.
Questions
The ones people actually ask
What happens when I run out?
New conversation stops. Everything else carries on — your old chats stay readable and the desktop app keeps selling exactly as before. Top up, move up a plan, or wait for the renewal date the app shows you.
Do I need a Kit subscription?
Kit AI reads your Kit records, so yes, there has to be a Kit business behind it. The simplest route is to tick Kit AI during Kit signup. Pay as you go suits someone already on Kit who wants the assistant only now and then.
Can my staff see the bill?
No. Paying and using are deliberately separate. Someone holding a seat on your account sees that they are covered and nothing more — their summary carries no figures at all, rather than figures the screen is politely hiding.
Can a team be part Kit POS and part Kit Enterprise?
No, and this is on purpose. The two sides do not share an identity system or a permission model, so a single team spanning both would have no coherent answer to what its members may reach. Set up a plan on each side.
Is my data used to train anything?
No. Your records are read to answer your question and for nothing else.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, in either direction, and onto pay-as-you-go as well. A change of plan starts its allowance fresh rather than carrying half a spent one across.
What currency am I billed in?
Yours. Shillings if your business bills in shillings, dollars if it does not — decided by your business currency, not by where you happen to be sitting.
