Kit is a small team in Kampala building software for the way business is actually done on this continent. We are not hiring for a specific position right now, but we read every CV, and the next role usually goes to someone who wrote to us before it existed.
People who have stood behind a counter, or wish they had.
Engineers
PHP, Laravel, Vue, Electron, Kotlin and Swift, SQL that has to be right at month end. You care that the till keeps working when the internet does not, and you can explain a permission rule to a cashier.
Support and onboarding
You have run a shop, a bar, a pharmacy or a lodge, or you have set systems up for people who do. You answer the phone, you write clearly, and you know EFRIS from the inside.
Sales and partnerships
You know Kikuubo, Nakawa and the trade routes beyond Kampala. You would rather show a trader their own numbers than read a slide. Accountants who want to run clients on Kit: we want to hear from you too.
What to send, and what happens next.
- Email hello@kit.africa with the subject "CV for Kit". Attach a CV (PDF) and write three or four lines on what you would fix first in any till, stock or payroll system you have used.
- We reply within one working week to say we have it. We keep CVs for twelve months and delete them after that unless you ask us to keep yours longer. See the privacy notice.
- When a role opens that fits, we write back and set up a conversation, usually a short call followed by a half day of real work with the team.
Working at Kit
Based in Kampala, with time in customers' shops and lodges as part of the job. Small team, direct access to the people who use what you build, and pay in shillings on time. We answer our own email, and we expect you to as well.
